Hyundai Motor Company continues its remarkable winning streak at the World Car Awards, with the Hyundai INSTER named the 2025 World Electric Vehicle. The announcement was made today at the prestigious New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), marking Hyundai’s fourth consecutive year of success at the globally acclaimed awards.
Selected by a distinguished jury of 96 automotive journalists from 30 countries, the INSTER stood out among a competitive field, earning praise for its design, innovation, performance, and value in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle segment.
INSTER: Innovation in a Compact Package
A standout in the sub-compact EV segment, the Hyundai INSTER impressed jurors with its eye-catching design, advanced technology, and outstanding efficiency. Equipped with a 49-kWh long-range battery, the INSTER delivers up to 230 miles of range and supports rapid charging from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes—a feature typically reserved for larger or more premium EVs.

A Winning Tradition
This latest win adds to Hyundai Motor’s growing legacy at the World Car Awards. In 2024, the high-performance IONIQ 5 N took home the World Performance Car title. The IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 each claimed triple victories in 2022 and 2023, respectively, showcasing the automaker's consistent excellence across multiple vehicle categories.
